Maharashtra Emergency Medical Dial 108 Ambulance Services (MEMS108) 

Introduction
Maharashtra Emergency Medical Dial 108 Ambulance Services (MEMS108) is a life saving service (similar to 911 in the United States) for the residents of Maharashtra. A person in a medical emergency dials 108 from a fixed or cellular phone and the call is received by an agent in the centralized contact center in Pune; who dispatches the nearest ambulance based on the type of emergency. This ambulance has a doctor on board who stabilizes the patient onsite and then the patient is transferred to the nearest relevant hospital for further treatment. This service is provided free of cost by the Government of Maharashtra – Department of Health Services (DHS) and comprises 937 state of the art ambulances strategically spread across the state of Maharashtra. The calls are received at the emergency response center (ERC) which is a 65 seats state of the art contact center with data center on-premise. In its 6 years of operation so far MEMS108 has the following effectiveness statistics to name a few.

Photon designed and built the contact center and on-premise data center and is managed services provider (MSP) to Maharashtra Emergency Medical Dial 108 Ambulance Services (MEMS108). Photon partnered with BVG India Ltd. as information and communications technology (ICT) system integrator (SI), consultant and managed services provider (MSP) for MEMS108. MEMS108 ambulances are equipped with life saving equipment and are connected to the central emergency response center (ERC) using communication technology such as cellular phone and location detection using GPS. The ERC is built by Photon with state of the art data center on-premise and a 65 seat contact center. Photon serves as MSP for uninterrupted operation of the ERC.
